Bottle. Dark amber color. Malt, toffee, vanilla and earthy notes. Cognac in the aroma and flavor. Additional licorice in the flavor. Sweet, carbonation is soft. Not bad, but could be much better.

Clear amber beer, small and incomplete bubbly cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft and fairly dry malts, some caramel and cream. Soft dried fruits. If this has spent any length of time in a champagne cognac barrel, I would be surprised. Sure these is a light cognac tone but I've had plenty stronger from loads of BWs that produced this flavour naturally and were not barrel aged. Compared to BW18, this is a flaccid let down.

Almost clear amber - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Smooth an airy palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Fluffy malts bring a bitterish and slightly singed toffee - caramel. Ripe ans slightly dank fruits. Touch of barrel vanilla. The champagne cognac is fairly clear but there is some bitterness coming in that you would never get in the appellation product. Nontheless this is a good stab at doing this and I liked it. But Champagne Cognac and Barleywine are two of my favourite things to drink so can this be bettered? Absafuckenloutely!

Bottle picked up from somewhere in the Netherlands and consumed at home Sunday 9th December 2018. Pours dark reddy/brown with an off white head, sticky. Barley and toffee in abundance there is a little vanilla and a touch nutty. Soft in the mouth, a little sticky, boozy but it's a nice booziness to it. This is good.A8 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

BW18 versie, die volgens mij gewoon hetzelfde is. Uitstekend van smaak en prima in balans. En voor minder dan 4 euro. Stukken beter dan die BA gedrochten van 6 a 7 euro. Positivity points daarvoor!
