Blaze is a summer beer, made in winter for you to drink on warm languid afternoons. Pours a blush golden colour. This is a complex beer. Citrus Esters highlighted by Grapefuit and Lemondrop hops with a yeast spiceiness filled out with grains of paradise, in addition to low level yeast phenolics. Saison yeasts have fermented this beer to be super dry with intriguing levels of horse-saddle-funk (yes!!). The esters and liberal addiiton of hibicus flowers, give Blaze a berry sweetness. We did say it was complex!

330ml can ordered online from Hoptimism and drunk at home. Dark, almost brownish gold, clear with a fizzy ring of off-white head. Malty, yeasty aroma with dried grass, orange oil and some white pepper. Sweet taste with a spicy farmhouse yeast character, and notes of tangerine peel and tannic tea. Finishes considerably drier. Heavy carbonation. One of those beers that wasn't quite what I expected, but it certainly grows on me.

Can. Light haze on this gold amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth and slightly soft malts, mildly sweet. Ripe orchard fruits with a little dry spice and a whisper of lemondrop loveliness, nowhere near enough unfortunately. Light esters merge in to something like candy fruits but then there is a rapid switch to bitterness on the smooth and abrubt finish. Interesting beer in as much as it is all over the shop without ever being obnoxious. Something of cacophony taste wise then, but not every cacophony is unlistenable. This one certainly is. Amusing and eyebrow raising.

330ml can. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a big, short-lived fizzy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is yeasty, herbal, light grapefruit citrus. The flavour is moderate to light sour, with a light, crisp, light tart citrus, floral hop palate. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation.
