On tap at John Bull Pub, Aalborg. It pours a clear, copper coloured body and a dense, finger-thick white head. The aroma has caramel, some roasted malts and a touch of fruityness. Medium body, smooth and a bit heavy on the carbonation. Roasted flavor with caramel and a pleasant grassy and slightly piney hop bitterness. Lasting roasted finish. An honest beer, but it isn’t very interesting. 110417

On tap (keg) at Sherlock Holmes Pub, Aarhus. Copper coloured beer (the pub was not very well lighted, though), low creamy head. Predominantly malty aroma and flavour with notes of toffee, hints of hazelnuts. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Smooth and easy drinking.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "John Bull Bitter Ale" credited to "Ind Coope Ltd." in London. Pretty, deep reddish brown with an impressive and lasting head. Very marked malty notes with a somewhat burned caramelish touch and a distinct sweetness. This are kept in the balance by a solid but never overpowering bitterness. Quite a positive surprise. 080601 (Bottle 33 cl) As "John Bull Premium Ale" 5/3/5/2/10=2,5 070403
