It's either a light imperial or a tough ale. Meh. It's run of the mill.

Bottle from Asda Superstore in Rochester (Kent). Color: Dark ruby, beige head. Aroma: Malty, caramel, raisins. Taste: Dark malt, some chocolate, raisins, dark dried fruit, caramel, brown sugar notes. Typical British Old Ale. Just over medium body, below average carbonation. Over moderate sweet, moderate floral hop bitterness. Dry-ish bittery finish. Nice.

330ml bottle - Pours a dark brown colour with a small beige head that settled. The aroma is malty and fruity with some caramel and molasses notes. A medium sweet malty taste, fruity, caramel, brown sugar and raisin flavours with a peppery hop finish.

330 ml bottle, bought in Scarborough. Mahogany coloured beer, large and lasting tan head. Malty sweet aroma, notes of port wine, oak and bakery. Excellent mouthfeel, full and rich. Flavour of generous malts, caramel, dried dark fruits, moderate but noticeable hops (Goldings and Northdown), port wine finish. Fairly sweet, but not cloying. A true classic!
