An unclear dark orange beer with a very fast disappearing head. The aroma is strong of apples, in a very nice way, while the flavor contains strong notes of brettanomyces (spelling?) and apples, mixed with lighter malty notes. Now this is one good invention in beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Comes as: "Thorogoods Billy B’s Rock Sida 2000". A very unusual brew with all the water in the brewing process being substituted by apple must. Pours a slightly hazy orangey golden with a lightly creamy, off-white head. Lightly acidic, fruity nose - but it’s not distinctly apples I sense here, some almost tropical aromas. Full-bodied with very fruity, vinous almost perfumy accents. And then an almost Brett-like acidity. A very unusual and unique experience but certainly an excellent one. Thanks to Jacob for sharing. 160206

750ml bottle at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Again brought back by Duff from the land of Oz. And boy was I pleased he did. Cloudy, dirty gold colour. Beer spumed out of the bottle when opened, very lively. Thin white head. Apple sour aroma. Quite alcoholic (then again it is 12%). Sweet sickly apple flavour with lambic style sour aroma. This is from Australia? Hats off! Intense flavours. Very alcoholic, very sweet and then very sour. I want my gums back!!!! As the beer was left to oxidise in the air, it softened and produced further aroma and flavour. There was kerosene like from a good sweet white wine. Sweet juicy apple fruit and then sour, sour, sour. The longer it took to drink the better it got. Even the guys on the cider stand thought it was good. Cheers Duff, he said, pointing and nodding knowingly

Bottled. Lively cloudy golden appearance. Citric apple aroma. Plenty of freshening lambic-like acidity. The mouthfeel is unbelievably sparkling and lively, and there’s loads of fresh green apples there. Very cider-like and bursting with spritzyness, but add Cantillon like acidity. Really good and almost bizarre. Decidedly the most interesting beer at the RB Xmas Sydney gathering ’05!
