Knowle Spring is a full-bodied blonde beer brewed with Golden Promise barley malt, Strisselspalt hops from Alsace, and UK-grown Minstrel, Cascade and Chinook hops. It’s an easy-drinking beer with floral and grapefruit aromas, spiced orange on the tongue followed by aromatic citrus hop flavours to finish.

500ml bottle at the Old's. Pours clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of cereal, biscuit, faint lemon. Taste is more of the same. Light sweaty vibe on the finish.

Fra cask på Mr. Thomas's Chop House, Manchester. Gylden. Litt uklar. Tett filmskum. Tett teppelacing. Veldig lett krydderaroma. Smaken krydder - med en anelse eddik? Skuffende. Kanskje ikke i sin beste form.

Bottle at home from Morrisons. A good pour and a nice head on a deep golden beer. The aroma was bitter hops and some malt and that was replicated in the flavour. The bitterness was intense, which is how I like it, but I served it quite cold and that balanced things out a bit. This would be perfect on a sunny day at home, although the abv is a bit strong for it to be that sessionable. A really good English style golden ale with uncompromising bitterness meant that I was in heaven.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell. A pale amber colour with a thin white head; bitter herbal aroma; surprisingly full-bodied, with honey and cirtus on top of a solid grainy base; and a lingering honeyed finish. Rather good.

Cask-conditioned at the York Tap 2/11/2017. Bright gold in colour, with a tight, white, head. Sweetish rich tea malts, a touch of stone fruit, leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
