Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is roasted malt with dark chocolate, liquorice, soft whiskey, notes of coffee, a touch of dried dark fruits, and some wood from the whiskey. Flavour is sweet with a nice roasy bitterness in the finish. Body is almost full. Sweet and pretty smooth, pleasant level of infused whiskey, leaves plenty of room for the base Porter to shine.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Opaque black color, small beige to light brown colored head. Smell and taste malts, sweet dark raisins, some whisky, decently bitter, some caramel. Solid to good I'd say.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 09-2022. Dark color, short frothy head. Aroma of licorice and roast, slight boozy and woody whisky. Bit green wood and herbal taste, bit roast and licorice, slight cookie and chocolate. Bit unbalanced, but still tasty. --- Beer merged from original tick of Aethelstan Whisky Infused on 21 Apr 2018 at 09:37 - Score: 7. Original review text: Lci

Flesje gedeeld door Benzai. Zwart bier met licht bruin schuim. Aroma van koffie en whisky. Smaak van whisky, koffie en alcohol. Door de geringe nasmaak ben je geneigd te vlug te drinken.

33 cl. bottle @ home as 12% ABV, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg Black with a tan head. Dark lightly roasted malts and whisky in the aroma. Taste is moderately sweet. Some chocolate, some vanilla. Alcohol well concealed as this is very smooth for a 12% ABV beer. Very nice one.

Bottle. Color: Very dark brown, almost black. Thin, fast disappearing light brown head. Taste: Dark roasted malt with strong notes of whiskey. Vanilla, booze, medium sweet combined with hopbitterness, dried dark red fruit, lightly smoky hints. Ligjhty harsh. Above medium body, below average carbonation. Nice one but not a top BA beer.

C: Medium, reasonably stable tan-russet head over almost black brown beer, finely carbonated 4/5 N: Sweetish nose, with aromas of herbs in tincture, heather, felt, holly. 7/10 T: Sweet-herbal. Faint acidity and bitterishness. Creamy vanilla; dark brown bread, mild roast. 7/10 MF: Serious alcoholglow backthroat, thick, voluptuous MF. Medium to well-carbonated. 4/5 O: Quite pleasing beer; dangerously drinkable despite its massive ABV. 15/20
