Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Golden amber with a thin white head; aroma of caramel malts; rather thin in the mouth with a soft malty taste and some caramel and citrus; then a drying finish. Not exactly hard rock, more middle of the road.

(Cask at Cross Keys, Covent Garden, London, 13 Apr 2014) Golden yellow colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grass, grapefruit, lemon peel and a fresh, grassy/resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty with a fresh hop character. The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath...? Not really. Quite nice actually.

Cask at the Masque Haunt, 08/04/14, JDW Spring 2014 Fest Beer #22. Almost clear golden with a moderat off white covering that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is on the thin side, caramel, light spice notes, summer fruits, light bread dough. Taste comprises a little more depth, caramel, hint of vanilla, light butterscotch in an Angel Delight way - not diacetyl, dark fruit pangs. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of bitterness. So so affair ... the bugle sounded, the rate begins but in this pub no one wins!

Cask handpull at Spoons Montagu Pyke. Funny I have seen this in bottles but never bought it. Clear amber colour lasting beige head. Robinson yeast then a sherbert hoppy bitter. Not bland just not sure it is balanced. Too much hop? It’s like space dust in the finish. Ok. If weird space dust

Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe. Amber with a prickly fizz and a thin white head. Lots of caramel, then cherry, apple and marzipan. A little watery, but some dryness in the finish. Too sweet for my liking.
