Cask (gravity) at Smithfield, Derby – at 9%. Pours a murky black. Aroma has custard, chocolate and vanilla. In the mouth it has a milky texture, with flavours of liquorice and dark fruits plus hints of alcoholic strength. Finish is dry and boozy. This is excellent ! And it hides its strength well too.

Can, 0.44l. Aroma of milk chocolate, vanilla and mild coffee. Pours almost black color with medium sized soapy light brown head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet chocolate, vanilla and custard, follows by tart cherries and herbs with medicinal note, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while some coffee notes traced at finish. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Dark custard matters…

Can at CBC, Covent Garden on 18th August 2019. Share with friend Brian Benoit. Rated as a novelty ale. Ink black with tan foam and spot lacing. Intense chocolate roasted malt aroma. Rounded blend of coffee, bitter chocolate and toast with a creamy lactic background. Toasty bittersweet malt finish. Full bodied with an engaging texture. Superb!
