Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, very thin beige head. Aroma: Sweetish, coconut, vanilla, dark fruit and chocolate hints. Very fresh aroma, compared with the Hagger 1116 I had some weeks ago. Taste: Bourbon, dark dried fruit, sweet fudge, quite a lot of vanilla and coconut. Some caramel and Cognac. Subtle oak. Slightly boozy. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice balance and complexity. Bit sticky. My third Hagger after a fresh 0318 and a 3 years old 1116. The first one that has pronounced coconut flavours. Maybe still a bit young, but it definitely has good complexity and balance like the other ones. Missing some barrel notes, sweetish fudge and body compared to 1116 and 0318. I'm curious how this one will taste after some years in the bottle. Still a very nice one.

Bottle. Pitch black, thin beige head, nonlasting. Complex nose with lots of wood, whisky, vanilla, dry fruits, roastiness, some milder chocolate. Pretty sweetm a bit cloying. Chocolate-caramel sweetness, a lot of dry fruits. Mild bittery touch, very faint. Roasty aftertaste, long. Creamy body. Quite warming, though not burning. A fine one.

29th December 2019 Blue Wax. Is this the right entry? Anyone on Ratebeer give a fuck anymore? Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth and slightly soft palate, decent superfine carbonation. Smooth soft malts, a nice soft creamy sweetness. Traces of caramel - toffee and ripe fruits. Nice blend of barrel aged barleywine here, red wine seems pretty clear (and would make for a good solo ba offering), smooth cognac and soft fruity bourbon. Smooth finish carries a modest spice. Soft, rich and approachable and complex.

Draught at CBF Wien, shared by Powy, thanks! Dark brown body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head. Aroma of bourbon, toffee, chocolate fudge, vanilla, dried fruits, marzipan. Tastes quite similar, with more dried fruits, sherry, some booze. Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes sweet, fruity, wooden, with dried fruits, bourbon, cocoa, chocolate fudge. Very tasty. Extremely rich, quite sweet, with enough robustness and bourbon notes. Pretty heavy of course, but a great to sipper, with a dense, creamy character. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17
