500ml bottle from Sainsburys. The colour is amber with an off-white, thin foaming head. Very light aroma, with some slight hops. Taste is typical of an English bitter. OK.

Nose is light malt slight cereal. Very bland. Taste is light malt leading to a little butter scotch. Slightly too fizzy. This is a surprisingly poor bitter.

Bottle. Chestnut brown colour, with a mild caramel malt aroma. Quite carbonated. Quite good, at least as mainstreem brewers pasteurised bottles go.

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a mid-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, shades of citrus and a tinge of dust. Mildly bitter flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slim cara-malty base with a restrained fruit-character but spicy hops from behind; mildly bitter and caramel-malty finish. Drinkable but rather boring. 14.XII.12

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with small to average, frothy to macropore, diminishing, white head. Grainy, fruity, malty hop aroma, red currant, gooseberry, a touch of honey. Taste is dry malty, minimally nuttily, strawy; a bit light and watery. Concerning taste pretty much far from the aromatic promise.

500ml bottle cheapie at £1 from Morrisons. First pour looks really good, a red body, nice white head. That goes to leave a thin froth, letting a bit of hoppiness through in the nose. Taste is a bit bland, very thin on the mouth. Ordinary.
