(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE Feb 2015, at Punavuoren Ahven, 20131229) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice, ash and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, ash, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was ashy and bitter. A nice but bit too burnt stout.

Bottle and can. Black body with a thick tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and pine. Flavour of hops, roasted malt, chocolate and pine. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft carbonation. A hoppy, bitter, well balanced beer that is pitched somewhere between a Stout and a Black IPA. One of my favourite Williams Brothers beers - at a great price too.

Bottle at home. The colour is clear dark brown to black colour with a small beige head. Lots of roasted malt in the aroma with coffee, hops, leather and liqour. Complex and nice. The flavour follows up with more coffee, ash and roasted malt. Slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A very nice, balanced and roasted imperial stout. Compact and a bit hoppy.

Appearance: Transparent black color with a small bubbly of white head. No lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, roasted malt and coffee.
Palate: Medium + body. Moderate sweetness, and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Chocolate, coffee, mild fruity and mild roasted malt.
Overall impression: Did not look very nice. But the looks proved it wrong. No fancy stuff, but absolutely ok.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway.

Svart farge med beige fluffy skum som blir relativt fort borte. Lukter noe fruktig, vått gress og brent kaffe. Noe bitter og tørr i ettersmak.

18.09.2013, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, dark malts, hops, grass, coffee, licorice, alcohol. Taste is dark malts, alcohol, raw licorice, grass, hops, pine needles, hay, coffee, burnt caramel, rubber. Nice longlasting bitterness. As a Williams Bros. beer it’s pretty nice, but basicly it’s pretty boring.
