First rating:Smallish beige head. Nearly opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges. Earthy chocolatey cardamom aroma with caramelly soy sauce notes. Dry-sweet earthy cardamom and chocolate taste with soy sauce and roasty notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dry salty roasty cardamom and earth aftertaste with nougat and resin notes. Nice, drinkable, but perhaps a bit too salty. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen Storsenter.) 7,4,6,4,13=3.4

Second rating: Smallish gray-brown head. Deep dark brown body. Earthy roasty chocolatey aroma with salty licorice notes. Dry resiny earthy chocolatey taste with salty licorice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, velvety mealy mouthfeel. Dry salty earthy licorice aftertaste with roasty mineraly notes. Very nice. Highly drinkable, yet full of flavour. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.) 7,4,7,4,14=3.6

330ml bottle at home. Nice to have something with a bit of flavour after 5 unexceptional blonde/bitter variations. Pours near black with thin, long-lasting tan head. Big coffee aromas, dark stone fruits, dark chocolate, and pine. Hop bitterness come through well on the taste, balancing chocolatey sweetness. Smooth texture. Good.

Very dark brown beer. Aroma is strong hop and chocolatey coffee. The flavour follows suit with a strong fruity edge and a bitter finish.

Not at all rich, but with a high drinkability.

Bottle at Endo’s house, 25/05/13, thanks to DW. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head. Big roasted malt blast on the nose, bitter chocolate, mineral notes. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, light roast, slightly oxidised (bottle was BBE some time in 2014). Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light roasty feel in the finish. Ok stuff, but not doing a lot for me, imperial stout in name perhaps but certainly not in complexity!

very dark brown colour, brown, long lasting creamy head;aroma of roasted malt, dried fruits and some chocolate; taste of roasted malt, citrus-notes and not too intensive hoppy bitterness; ok but a bit watery considering that it inteds to be an imperial stout

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized, fairly quickly diminishing beige to light brown head. Aroma of malts, some hops, slightly some fruits. Taste malts, lightly bitter, lightly hops and some dark fruits. A bit thin texture, ok body, decent carbonation.

Bottle @ home thx to benzai. Pitch black, opaque with a small light brown head. Smells sweet, fresh, perfume in a good way, blossom, roasty. Tastes roasty, coffee, milk, chocolate, sweet, great. Silky mouthfeel, medium body, soft carbo.

Bottle from Beernavigator. Near due to date. Pours almost pitch black with a small beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, slightly vinous, rich chocolate and some sweet caramel. The taste is thin for the style but understandable for being 7%, a bit of bitterr burnt tones, caramel, chocolate, coffee but the fruity hops have disappeared. Still a complex, warming and rich drink for a winter evening.
