33 cl bottle @ home. Very dark color, but not quite black/opaque. Beige, rocky head. Aroma’s: roasted malts, somewhat sweet, licorice (drop & zoethout). Retronasal also some red fruit/berries. Flavor is roasted, medium sweet, drop, lightly bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes with more roast, rather bitter and somewhat dry. Pretty good.

Bottle at John Bull. A reddish dark brown beer, topped by a finger-thick, light beige head. Looks hazy. Raisins, prunes, some roasted malts, a touch of liquorice and some umami on the nose. Equally complex flavour, dried fruits dominating, but leaving room for some roasted malts, umami and liquorice. A little bitterness towards the very end. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Roasted end. Certainly a nice one, although a bit British for my likings. 120816

Znakomity, treściwy i dobrze uważony imperialny stout ze szkockiego mikrobrowaru. Rozgrzewa w ustach alkohol przyjemny smak kawowy jakby zimne espresso. Nuty czekolady deserowej także się wyczuwa. Piana obfita, barwa czarna jak smoła bez prześwitu jakiegokolwiek. Klasyk

Dark brown color, almost black; small frothy head. Mild arom aof roasted malt and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate flavor, with a medium body strength, dryish mouthfeel, and showing more ashy malts in the final; also some dark chocolate final; the bitterness is correct.
Roasty duke Stout, not yet Imperial.

Bottle. Brownish black beer with a light head. The aroma is deeply roasted and mildly bitter, and the flavour is smooth, with a deep and long bitter and roasted finish. Overall a nice strong stout.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear reddish brown with a small beige head. Sweet roasty nose with a licorice touch. Medium body, sweet roast, a little pruney and a whiff of tar, ashes and smoke. Solid bitter finish - clearly from both hops and burned malts. Solid. 010412
