Copper colour with thin head. A straightforward malty ale. Quite fruity. Too gassy though.

440ml can from the brewery. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is big malt, light woody hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, sweet malt, grainy, light floral, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can from the Beer Garage. Appearance - deep chestnut to brown and with a nicely proportioned off-white head. Nose - malt loaf and chewy toffee. Taste - malt loaf and chewy Highland Toffee is predominant, but a wee candied orange thing going on as well. Palate - medium bodied, rich and chewy texture. Light malt bitterness on the finish. Overall - great example of the style.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 15th January 2020. Coppery amber with off-white foam and plenty of lacing. Sweet malty aroma. Caramel malt in-mouth with leafy hops and a finish of hazelnut, walnut and raisins. Velvet smooth texture and a light to medium body. Interesting and quaffable.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 17/7/2017. Amber in colour, with a small, white, head. Sweetish malts, a touch of caramel, hedgerow fruits, and a lingering, bitter hop finish. Good.

Cask @ Six Chimneys, Wakefield. Clear golden with a frothy head. Slightly more fruity than malty, but crisp enough and sessional either way.
