Gylden brun klar med hvitt skum. Lite lukt, noe karamell og maltlukt. Fruktig, noe bitter. Uten kullsyre. Lett

Keg @ the Standard, Bedford. This is not my usual type of beer, but I was in the mood for a macro rate so I thought ’what the hell’. Amber, clear after a long period of settling. Big head like a Mr Whippy. Faint aroma of grain with a hint of lemon. Taste: not too bad... initial sweet fades to sharper bitter finish and aftertaste. Gets very tedious very quickly. I prefer cask but if you’re into boring and unremarkable session beers then this is the one for you.

440ml can. The can opens with an big, intense hiss...pretty cool. Filtered honey-orange. color. Massive, thick, steady off-white head. Really enjoyable to me at first, as I have a serious lack of UK beer in my life. Very light on the palate, light to medium bodied I suppose. Buttery toffee, fishy weirdness, Not really that enjoyable to me by the end. Simple.cheap, bland. You want a little malt depth, or clean golden malt smoothness, this doesn’t have it. You want a little hop character, bite,balance... this just doesn’t have it.

Draught at Manor House Hotel, Newlands Corner, Surrey. Pale amber, creamy head. Fruity nose with old butter and boiled vegetables. Sweet with light body and creamy mouthfeel. Apply fruit, rotting vegeatbles and hay. Low-medium bitterness.

Draft at Miller and Carter, Solihull. Poured a lively medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is dry, weak malt leading to a medium to weak bitter, slightly hoppy, maly flavour. It’s cool, has a watery palate and is full of life. I guess they will sell loads on a hot summer day. It’s not the worst beer in the world by a long way.

Two half-pints in Blackfriers Theatre (Boston, Lincolnshire) before and at half-time during ’Sleeping Beauty’ by The Vienna Festival Ballet on 31 Mar 2013. Dark amber body with a full creamy head that stayed the distance on both halves. It looked pretty good to be honest. Too cold to have an aroma at first, as it warmed a malty molasses and mixed dark fruits smell began to appear. The taste took its time to arrive because of the coldness, but it turns out the beer is slightly malty and semi-sweet throughout. Fairly smooth in texture as the name suggests, although I think smoothbland rather than smoothflow would suit it more.

Tap at the Lakeside Country Club, Frimley Green - 05/01/13. Day 1 of the BDO World Darts Championship 2013 - how Bob Potter spoils us with great beer ! Hazed golden amber with a good sized creamy white head that retains very well. Good lacing ensues. Nose is light malt, touch of fruit, barley. Taste follows ... the blandometer is high! Light malts, grain, barley. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate (they got one bit right!) and moderate carbonation. File under ’C’ for ... CACK!
