From one of my First Beer Swaps: deep black color and a small tan head. Roasty and malty, sweet nose and a boozy, oaky Taste. Smoky and peaty, but rather short Finish

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is dark malt, roast, fairly balanced peat, smoke, coal, whiskey, touch of wood and dark chocolate. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium to full, hardly any carbonation. Balance is the key word here... Nicely peated, and here’s room for other flavours, such as roasted malt, smoke, coal and choc. Good!

Bottle. Almost black. Soft caramel and roast, but especially peat and pipe tobacco in the aroma. Not thundering, but nevertheless dominant. Malty sweet flavor, full bodied, but once again peat and pipe tobacco playing first violin. Oaky finish, alcohol fairly well hidden. Well balanced, very low on carbon. Well controlled barrel aging.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of smokey peat, chocolate, vanilla, oak, licorice and molasses. Taste has thick tarr, smoke, vanilla, molasses, licorice, caramel and a lot of bowmore. Another good zwarte snorre.

0.33 l bottle from 'Drankenspeciaalzaak van Haastregt/Lamers', best before March 2018, cellared for one-and-a-half years. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a bit medicinal aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, some peat and hints of red berries. Medium sweet, malty, gently roasty and quite medicinal-smoky taste of dark chocolate, licorice, hard roasted coffee, peat, iodine and a touch of dark fruits, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, earthy and fairly medicinal-smoky finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very enjoyable and well-balanced, just the right amount of peat for me.

Bottle from Monster Magnet, EU Local Swap. Cheers! Coffee, smoke, tar and the full impact of the whisky. Dark and glossy. The tan head soon fades away. Bitter - mirroring the aroma - with added berries and sweet liqourice. Thick bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Long boozy whisky finish. Lovely soft and surprisingly sweet Imperial Stout.
