Lionheart is an artisan premium ale from the Brookfield Brewing Company.
Lionheart is brewed to the highest modern standards of purity and quality, but the unique, secret recipe we use draws on 12th Century sources to make a beer that Richard himself might have enjoyed. Incorporating Sweet Gale, and brewed using open fermenters, Lionheart truly is a tribute to the history of a great nation and one of its greatest kings.

Bottle from somewhere in the Shrewsbury area. Copper-amber with a mild carbonation and a small head. In a clear glass, but not too skunky. There's some nice caramels within the ale providing some flavour. There's a small bitterness too.

Clear 500ml bottle, BBE Aug 2018. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 20th Mar 2018. Golden amber body, clean and clear, off-white head of large bubbles. Sweet Gale is another name for Bog Myrtle, but I could not detect anything unusual in the nose or flavours. Malty brew really, caramel notes in both the nose and taste, rather one dimensional actually.
