This is it, the one that started it all. Crafted to perfection for over 200 years.

Crack it open, and the first sip tastes as fresh as ever.

The unmistakeable deep-dark colour. The crisp hint of roasted barley, the fresh breeze of hops. The refreshing bite. The bittersweet reward.

Pure beauty. Pure GUINNESS.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up From Waitrose. Pours clear brown with a big, frothy tan cap. Medium sweet flavour with bready toasted mats, a little cocoa and coffee, mellow ashy roast, light earthy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance to finish, more semi-dark malt character, cocoa, mellow coffee. Easy-drinking beer.

Bottle. A- Roasty, char, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, beige head. T- Roasty, slightly bitter, cocoa. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- Really I suspect this is what Guinness tastes like without the nitrogen influence. Okay.

Getrunken als „Guinness Extra Stout“ mit 4,1 % Alk. Sehr malziger Geruch. Geschmacklich ebenso. Röstig, trockene Noten. Die reichlich vorhandene Kohlensäure verstärkt den trockenen Eindruck, verschleiert aber die röstig/malzigen Noten etwas und die Tatsache, dass das Bier insgesamt recht leer ist. Trotzdem ganz gut trinkbar, aber auch ganz klar nix wo ich vor Verzückung niederbreche.

Near black with a frothy / creamy tan head and an aroma of lightly roasted malt. Smooth and semi-creamy, it's smooth and satisfying without offering much beyond roasted malt and a hint of nuttiness

Bottle from Tesco. Pours black with a large thick creamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Taste has more roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Roasty bitterness on the finish. Medium body and very smooth oily mouthfeel. Decent for a mass produced Stout.

Rocky beige head left a creamy cover on a black still body. Bitter malt aroma. Medium bodied, sharp with a clean back. Malt, coal, nutty, burnt & bitter tastes. Decent
