Maggie's Farm is a Belgian Saison brewed in the farmhouse tradition. German Pilsner & English Pale malts contribute a beautiful golden color and dry malty backbone which support robust fermentation esters. Special Belgian yeast adds complex layers of fruit and spice flavors & aromas (called "esters") naturally produced during the fermentation process. Strong tropical fruit notes and earth farmhouse character are evident in this ale. Maggie's farm is moderately high in alcohol at 7.0% abv but a very light body and dry finish keep this beer drinkable. Overall look for a dry and surprisingly light-bodied Saison with a unique fruit & spice character with just a hint of wildness to the flavor.

Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Cloudy amber color, thin lasting head. Aroma shows earthy malts, toasted grain, mild yeast.

The carbonation is very low, nearly a flat feeling. Turn up the Co2 on the keg. Hey?? Flavor is a tad on the bland side. Pepper, oranges, dried flowers (hibiscus like). That is about it. Yeast is more noticeable in the aroma, flavor just falls flat.

Sampled @ Camping Ratebeers 2015. Opaque murky yellow color, small off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, quite fruity, subtly sweet, a slight hint of orangepeel. Decent body and carbonation. Quite nice!

--- Beer merged from original tick of Crossroads Maggie's Farmhouse Ale on 24 May 2018 at 16:15 - Score: 6
