Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small tan head and some lacing. The aroma is mainly roasted malts plus a hint of mushrooms. Roast malts again to the fore in the mouth, where it fluctuates between slightly sweet and a little bitter – leading to a bittersweet finish ! Liquorice and hints of vanilla in the flavour too. This is decent enough if a little watery.
