Large sample from one of two big bottles being shared on 5th Feb 2016: 4th International Beer Swap at De Bierboom, Brugge. Interest take on a Brown Ale, right colour with a beige head, but rather too sweet with a caramel feel to both the aroma and taste. I like sweet, malty beers so not a major problem for me: a little unbalanced though, a little more hop presence would have helped to calm the sweetness some more.

Bottle. Hazy orange brown, off-white head. Light roast aroma, a hint honey. Starts out herbal and roasted on the palate, nuts, honey sweetness, good orange peel and grass finish. Dry chewy mouthfeel. Very drinkable - rocklike in its approach. A little bit more aromatics it would do wonders though.

Muddy amber color with small head. Light aroma of malt, fruits, fudge. The flavor is a mess, caramel base with strong homebrew character, seriously flawed; sweet too; pungent alcohol: strong bitterness.
I wonder what the OG was to produce a sweet strong beer like this.
Offensive.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wet hay, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a funky finish in a wrong way. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Vintage 2009 or...? Pours a cloudy amber with a smallish off-white head. Phenollic, rotten fruit aroma. Medium body, tart, chemical, rotten fruit and quite some hops. Extremely flawed. A 9% Brown Ale? Seriously? 160912
