Glaucus is the mythological existence of a being, both man and fish, a deity amongst mere mortals. The only beer fitting of such a name marries bold and spicy Belgian yeasy with bright citric American hops in a way even the gods would adore. Savor this golden beverage that can calm even the harshest seas.

Pours a slightly hazy, light, lemon-yellow, with smallish head. Citrus and Belgian yeast/Brett aromas. Flavor is citrusy, with a strong Brett-yeast presence (not really my favorite flavor). If this is your thing, you'll probably like it quite a bit more than I did.

Ever so slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head on top. Aroma of grass, cardboard, light tropical fruits and a bit of play-doh and gak (toy). Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and very perfumey hop notes at first with a slightly mellow malt backbone showing some gaps and only a touch of cardboard to carry it through, but more hop notes that show the grassy and very herbal side of things without the typical yeast bite of a ’belgian ipa’. Aftertaste shows a good deal of hop bitterness, but no real malt backbone and no depth or complexity from the malty side of things. Overall, a decent beer that shows some nice hoppy flavours, absolutely nothing from the yeast strain and only a touch of the malt for support and complexity/balance, this was supported by the hops, but let down by everything else. I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from Total Beverage in Thornton, Colorado on 04-June-2017 for US$3,50 sampled at home in Washington on 06-August-2017.
