Aged sample - 1 point for the unnecessary wax. Cream head appearing long seconds after pouring; pitch-black beer. Vanilla, banana, solvent. Shoepolish, tarr, glue, but especially candlewax. Banana and vanilla; sweet booze. Faint bitterness. It really needs warming up to get the flavours integrated, achieving a certain vinosity and some complexity. Very chewy, oily, full bodied, good carbonation. Whatever, it is syrupy. Txs to Stef!

Klasse!

Bottle. Dark brown-ish pour. Aroma of sweet banana candy, bourbon vanilla, candi sugar, caramel and strawberry. Taste has bitter caramel, banana candy, bourbon, a little cherry, vanilla, caramel fudge and booze. Tasta is a bit better than the aroma luckily. This could have worked, but the banana flavor is just too artificial and drags it all down.

13th May 2020 A bourbon barrel Impy. With banana! What could possibly go wrong? An almost opaque dark brown beer, small but tidy pale tan head. Nose is very candy banana and banana foam sweets, quite spirity, much more Gros Michel banana and much less Cavendish. Palate is smooth but slightly thin and dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Punchy alcoholic and slightly bitter banana liqueur with a fair dollop of fruity bourbon and chocolate dusted caramel. Tangy boozy bourbon, spicy and a little gum numbing on the finish. A glorius mess! It's an 11.4% beer that drinks closer to 16 or 17%. The bourbon seems to turbo charge the banana, as in rockets up it's 'old fashioned' banana arse. Can't help but like it, certainly never tasted another beer like it. Alcoholic death by impy banana. It's right here! I reckon you could age this for 5 years, easy and quite likely double that.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Banana chips, caramel and soft roast in the aroma. Vanilla, Malty sweet, roasty, caramelly, thinnish flavor with alcohol, banana and banana chips. Bourbon. The banana is unnecessary.
