Bottle from Berghoeve. Aroma is vanilla, roasted malt, oak, rum, caramel, some liquorice. Flavour is medium bitter with a mild sweetness. Body is above medium. Pretty smooth with that gentle vanilla, but bitter as well from the base beer. Nice one.

Cremig malziger Beginn mit erkennbarem Alkohol. Rum, süßlich, holzig, hohe Süffigkeit. Langer cremig malziger Abgang, wobei der Alkohol sich an der Grenze zur Sprittigkeit bewegt. 10/10/9/9/9/9

De rum is niet super aanwezig. Verder gewoon een prima bier in een prima reeks. Lekker smokey randje.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of licorice, smoke, dark chocolate and malt. Taste has sweet licorice, dark chocolate, booze, smoke, caramel, gluey red fruit and some figs. Lacks the depth that the scotch ba variants have, this is more simple and the glue flavor doesn't help either.

Bottle at home. Opaque pitch black color, average sized Brown hard rust diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, dark malts and something reminding me of sweet raisins. Is that white rum? I've really never drunk that. Flavor is malts, strong dark roasted malts, a little booze / alcohol burn in there but not so much a good stout can't handle. I do miss the thick texture though, it's a little but thin texture wise. I feel this not only deserves, but pretty much also needs a little but more of a syrupy texture. Nevertheless, a pretty useful BA stout. Cheers J&G!

Bottle. Color: Almost black, very thin, fast disappearring beige head. Aroma: Sweetish roasted malt, coffee. Taste: Over moderate sweet, roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, some molasses, clearly present yet well balanced note of sweetish Rum. Some vanilla. Bit boozy. Very smooth mouthfeel. Pretty long lasting finish. Quite sweet, but that's not strange for a Rum aged beer. Bit sticky. Over medium body, low carbonation. Well balanced, not that complex, nice one.
