Six different types of malt give this beer its rich and distinctive depth of flavour. Included in that monster mash bill is the deliciously sweet melanoidin malt which brings aromas of honey and biscuit, while three different varieties of rye grain produce deep flavours of nuts, spice and earthiness. Hops take a back seat to allow the complexity of our malt flavours shine through in this sessionable red ale.
Malts: Pale, Pale Rye, Cara Rye, Roast Rye, Melanoidinmalz & Munich.
Hops: Cascade, Willamette & Goldings.

Tasting at ChrisO’s. Light haze on this amber beer. Good white head. Super light creamy malt. Mild minerals. Light dry finish with a touch of citrus coming in. Not too bad.

Bottle from Aldi Gorgie 110113
Amber, clear, thin white head, minimal lacing
Aroma - caramel, dab of soft toasted malt, very soft hops, touch of hay
Taste - light caramel, cereals, soft bitter hops, tiny hint of citrus, bit dull to be honest
Palate - Medium carb, thinnish body, slightly tangy palate. Finish is quite dry, as main flavour, light bitter hops
Overall - Reasonable beer, but rather dull in flavour...might be better on cask

Red ale with a thin, frothy head. The aroma is sweet and malty but the taste is slightly sharper and a little blander. A pleasant, fruity beer.

Bottle from Deeside Drink Emporium. It pours hazy red-brown, with a thin off-white head. The nose is spice, wood, resin, underlying sweet malt and a touch of washing-up liquid. The taste is wood, caramel, sweet red berry, slight astringency, resin, spice and some grass, with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Alright.
