Draft at Barcade. Inky black pour with tight, creamy beige head. Dark roasty aroma, sweet aroma towards the back. Nice thick feel. Sweetness picks up a but more in the taste. Done chocolate, too. Smooth.

$5.99 500-ml bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours nearly black with an inch of brown head. Aroma is fresh coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor is dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, burnt malt. Long lingering dark chocolate bitterness. Definitely a different beer compared to the 2017 version.

500ml bottle from Trader Joes. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a slight brown hue to it. Medium sized white head. Aroma was dark chocolate, mild coffee, not overly bitter - more like the bitterness you get from a dark chocolate. Pretty tasty. --- Beer merged from original tick of Baltic Sunrise (2018 - ) on 04 Jun 2017 at 17:35

50cl bottle pours a translucent deep brown/black with some creamy, tan head that faded fast. Nose starts a bit green, but once it warmed then everything meshed, malt, caramel, licorice, dark roast coffee, toasted coconut meat. Flavor follows, toasted, burnt grains, malt, molasses, licorice, coffee grounds, turbinado sugar. Finishes with some black pepper, sweet too. Interesting because it reads Baltic, but the coffee is definitely there.

500 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Bottled 2/13/2018. No mention of New Belgium or coconut and as far as I can tell, this is a new version. Black with tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, some booze, malt, roasty notes. Tastes of coffee, dark chocolate, malt, roasty notes, oats, cocoa, some booze. Full body with a dry finish. Tasty.

On tap at Churchkey for a VA/MD tap take over. Pours a dark amber with a ring of off white head. Nose has chocolate, malt, coconut, some blonde roasted coffee, nutty. Flavor has more coffee bean, then syrupy, a little birch, malt, brown sugar. Finishes dry.

Tap at the Charlottesville location. Pours dark brown. Flavor is raisin, chocolate, earth, slightly sweet alcohol, some coffee. I did not know at the time this was Savor X aged on coffee and coconut, and they didn’t taste that similar (probably the strong flavors from the coconut - though I didn’t definitely pick coconut out in the flavor).

Coconut and some roast. Light coffee with some chocolate. A hint of what almost tastes like spice but it’s probably just the coconut wood. Black pour with good head and lacing. Caramel. Bittersweet finish.
