Bottle from Welfare Supermarket; clear amber pour with a creamy off white head, aroma has a hint of grapefruit and some malt, taste has some medicinal action, citrus, but mostly wrong.

Bottle from Asda. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, floral, earthy, toasted grain, gummy bears and candied citrus peel. The taste is crisp, sweetish, stone fruits, gummy bears, floral notes, lemon and toffee with a short, sweetish finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit too sweet for my liking, but overall fair.

Cask. Clear golden yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of light straw. Taste is lager-like. Not very hoppy for a beer with this name.

Clear golden lager with a thin head. Aroma is very light but almost flowery. Taste is a standard but decent lager. Crisp, bitter, no sickly aftertaste or mouthfeel. Drinkable.

Keg tap at the Globe, Dumfries. A shade darker than your average lager. Small white head and massive lacing. Smells ok... a bit of grain and a bit of citrus. There is that telltale macro lager cardboard scent but to be fair it stays in the background. Taste is so-so. Bittersweet, a bit astringent, not bad but not engaging. Not a ’craft’ lager really, is it? But it’s a drinkable enough alternative to the mega-macros.
