Central Artery is a Helles Lager that pays tribute to Boston's open air spaces. Though the name Central Artery is no longer used to describe the strip of land that we inhabit on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, to us it rings truer than ever. The conversion of this area into a community gather space has brought together many disparate parts of the city that were previously closed off to each other. Gazing out at the beautiful Rose Kennedy Greenway, we feel so much pride for this central location where events and activities exist in a way the city hadn't really seen before.

Pouring a beautifully striking bright gold color with a creamy white head, Central Artery displays a wonderfully vibrant nose balancing malty aromas of freshly baked, flour dusted rolls and lightly toasted barley with a gentle noble hop profile of dried wildflowers. Cleanly fermented, the palate follows the nose closely with pleasantly sweet notes of kneaded biscuit dough and bread crust. Refreshing and quenchable with a light rounded body, fully reserved level of bitterness and soft, drying finish, Central Artery proudly honors this classic Bavarian style.

Fort Point draught, 6/5/22. Clear, deep brass. Small, somewhat dense, white head fades slowly to cover. Beautiful hops shine with fresh herbs and grass as mineral and lightly toasted bread and honey notes emanate from the hops. Clean, aromatic, spicy, no flaw or alcohol. Soft and malty, richly-textured with big honey and white bread balanced by spicy and fresh herbal hops. Served cool, not ice cold, too. I really appreciate that. Pushing the envelope with the hop bitterness, but other than that it's spectacular.

Classy helles. More floral and fresh than the Weihenstephan. Top drawer.

Pours a clear light amber from a can. Light biscuity aroma and even a little peanut butter? Similar flavor, dry and light. Good beer.

Pours a clear, copper-gold, with smallish, quickly dissipating head. Aromas of grass and sweet grain. Flavor is grassy, with some pepper, malty sweetness, some cracker. Not my style, but not a bad beer by any means.

Pours clear gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to hug rim. Hot caramel and hay aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel, hay and cracker upfront turning to mild earth in the lasting finish.
