Bottle found in Victoria a couple months ago, simply labelled Oyster Stout, 7.5%abv and 20IBU. Barcode 690039011371. Pours with a dark kind of reddish-black body and very modest beige foam, smells of soft sweet barley but not of any excitement. Flavour is some dried sweet coffee, simple, and a little thin. Pretty mediocre, no idea where the oysters went, but I'mma keep watchin' these Star Trek movies on a quarantined friday night.

On tap at Spinnakers, pours a deep dark mahogany wth a small tan head. Aroma brings out light toasted malt and some briney notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with briney notes and toasted malt. Thin-bodied with a pretty weak flavour. Not a fan.

Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma has a lot of chocolate. The palate is sweet, syrupy-thick, with a slightly salty oyster note. That chocolate syrup character isn’t my favourite, and I guess I’d like the oysters to play a more prominent role, since this is an otherwise fairly one-dimensional strong stout.

Tap at the brewpub. Black, creamy cappucino head. Roast, licorice, dark caramel, berry, light briny notes. Medium light creamy dry body, salt licorice finish Quite intense, not bad.
