Years ago, while we were planning our brewery, we felt we knew what the future of beer was. In the 2020s, nobody would care about IPA anymore; beer would be all about session-strength saisons made with interesting spices!

The future has arrived! Forgotten Future is fermented with a classic French strain of saison yeast and spiced with black limes and white pepper to complement the fruity esters and spicy phenols produced by the yeast.

473mL can, pours a hazy pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals plenty of dry saison yeast, with gentle citrus, and a hint of pepper. Flavour is quite dry, with lots of saison yeast, crisp crackery malt, a hint of lime, and a hint of pepper. Dry, crisp and crackery. Good stuff.

The aroma is nice pepper and some citrus on the nose, has modest foam on a clear yellow body. Flavour is good yeast and soft pepper. Mouthfeel is very dry. It's competently brewed but its flavours are a little subtle, hard to pick out of a pack from Dageraad's similar beers.

Slight haze, and a dullish blonde colour. Not that much head. The black lime comes out on the nose, with some almost plasticy phenols. On the palate, this has good body for its size, lots of black lime, mellow tartness, a slight yeastiness, and maybe some florals. I don't necessarily get the white pepper. It's easy to drink, and less phenolic on the palate than the nose, which I appreciate. For me, the malt character isn't all that bright - a cleaner, paler malt note would really make this beer sing...I'm thinking when Dupont is really fresh, that kind of brightness. That would be the perfect frame for the other elements.
