Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours hazy deep brown with a thick light tan head. The nose is toast, roast caramel, raisin, pine, soft sweetness and light varnish. The taste is toasty, brown bread, caramel, Mars bar and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and easy going.

330ml bottle from Berlin Bier Shop. Citrus / pine nose, murky dark brown colour, fair amount of hops but could do with a bit more especially with a name like that. Citrus, orange and a little earthiness / toasted malts with a modest bitterness. Not bad but definitely not a brown ale by my definition.

Bottle: Reddish-brown coloured, small but slowly collapsing off -white head, fruity caramelly nose with a distinctive herbal and citrussy background; moderate to robust bitter-sweet flavour, surely medium bodied: caramelly fruity finish, balanced by a gentle but robust hoppy bitterness. Good, but still not too exciting…

Bottle 330ml. @ home.Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, grapefruit, light pine. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, caramel, roasted, pine, grapefruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20131126]

33cl bottle from Bier-deluxe. Poured dark copper with a thick, beige head. Bready, yeasty, mild citrusy notes in aroma. Flavor has bready malt, some fruity hoppy notes, minerals, yeast. Finish is semisweet with bread and caramel. Medium bodied. Mild flavors, fortunately not very sweet. Drinkable.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, chestnut-brown colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Toasty malty and slightly bready aroma with notes of caramel and a tinge of fruity, slightly exotic hops. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Toast-malty base with caramel and bready flavours, accompanied by mildly fruity hoppy notes of citrus and shades of pineapples; medium-dry sweet and moderately toasted malty finish with a delicately hop bitter blend, but also aromatic and mainly fruity hoppy flavours. Not directly what I would call a “hop gun” but it is quite likeable. 22.XI.13
