Smells of good fresh basil, some minty character as fresh basil sometimes has. Has a nice gold body with big white foam on top. Flavour is nice mellow sweet fresh basil and hop hints on the back end. Good oiliness on the mouth. This has great herbal character.

Cloudy gold, white head. Considerable basil in nose and palate. Slightly dry, long hop finish

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy deep blond color. The basil gives a strong minty accent to a powerful and hoppy IPA, more in the flavor; I’d be glad to try a basil beer also with a lighter beer.
Good result.

On tap. Pours a hazy yellow with little head. Basil all the way - aroma and taste. Drinkable, obvious ale base, but needs to be matched with food. Why does spaghetti come to mind?

On cask at CAMRA appreciation night at Ensemble Tap. Pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by the intense basil - this is no subtle addition - nothing much else noticeable. Flavour is no less subtle, completely coating the mouth in basil, very tastefully - drowning out the hops and whatever else there is. Bizarre, but it works quite well.

Light hazy pale. Big basil nose. OK, I like basil. The flavour is also big basil. It actually works in the sense that the hop bitterness still shines through and complements the herbal blast quite well. You still have to love basil to tolerate this brew, but at least it works on the palate.
