This milk stout, also know as sweet or cream stout, is black in color and brewed with cara, chocolate and roasted barley. Presenting a dominate malt sweetness with notes of chocolate, caramel and a hint of roast in the aroma and on the palate. Lactose sugar deepens and rounds out the pleasing rich malt and medium body of this unforeseen galactic visitor!

Mediocre muddy brown body and modest foam on top. Soft shoe polish on the nose... at least own it, dudes. Flavour is an awkward mix of milk stout, plain milk, and sweet dark grain. Full enough on the mouth. Just kind of a mess, really.

Draught at Darby's Gastown, Vancouver
Black color. Mild aroma, some dark caramel and chocolate flavor, no roastiness, mild sweetness, very light fruity feeling
Easy. Clean. Nice.

Draught @ Darby's. Dark brown with a thin head. Chocolatey aroma is appetizing. Decent body. Quite sweet, a little bit husky. I like richer malts on this style - lighter body and richer malts. I interpret this as really not having the right malt bill at all for the style - you need the richness of British malts and more unfermentables. It's not just lactose that makes a good milk stout.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of sulphury roasted malts and a bit of chocolate ice cream. Flavors of sweet milk chocolate, sugary coffee, roasted malts and watery vanilla.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out subdued lactose upfront, with light cocoa. Flavour is fairly sweet, with plenty of lactose, followed by cocoa. Lots of lactose sweetness on the finish. Nothing overly complex, but it works pretty well.

Black, small tan head. Great nose of medium roast/chocolate.Palate has perfumey pipe tobacco notes,(similar to Crannog BHOG) chocolate & roast. A bit too sweet for my liking
