When tossing a keg isn’t enough of a challenge, pick up a bourbon barrel and give it a throw! This is "Barrel Tosser", our Wee heavy aged in freshly emptied Heavenly Hills bourbon barrels for 6 months. An extra long boil, cool fermentation and extended aging give this beer a rich, smooth and complex profile.

On tap at the brewpub. The aroma is nothing to speak of, maybe spiced bread if I inhale it through my nose. Has no head and a semi-clear copper body. Flavour is sweet brown sugar with a hint of malt. Mouthfeel is kind of weak, alcohol is well hidden though. There's nothing too exciting here.

Golden-brown. Thin head. Just huge phenol and alcohol bomb...this is the heads, to use a distilling term. Sweet, sticky, and just bubblegum and alcohol. Malt? Bourbon? How can a brewery fuck this up so badly?

At Matt’s place. 650ml bottle. Pours a clear caramel with white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and vanilla notes. Taste is sweet, vanilla, caramel. Quite pleasant.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark amber color, small head. The barrel comes through with some vanilla and some petrol. Sweet, robust body, a bit oily too; it has some caramel flavor, but not much depth; the oak flavor is very strong, Bourbon; very low bitterness.
I like sweet beers, I can drink it, but it’s very simplistic.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is quite sweet, with lots of caramel and sweet dark fruits. Flavour is very sweet, with notes of sweet caramel, wood and dark fruits. Not overly complex, but thankfully not overly sweet either. Reasonably done.
