Rex Machina was brewed with a base of local Silver Star Two Row malt from Blacklands Malt and a quarter-ton of flaked and malted oats and wheat. It was dry hopped aggressively, first with Weldwerks super-expressive, hand-picked lot of El Dorado, then again with a new hop blend called Trident, which lends an intense tropical, passion fruit character.

Pale clouded orange yellow pour from can from Department of Beer & wine. Citrus, some malt, really good IMO

16 oz. Can. Aroma of tangerines, lemon, ready malt. Flavor is bright citrus and mild supporting bread like malt. Shows a mild citrus peel bitterness. Shows a ton of citrus. Nice.

Canned 7/19/23, 8/19/23. Heavily hazy, golden-maize. Fluffy, white head slowly to good cover. Light and juicy with heavy mineral, tangerine pulp and heavy, heavy more mineral on the end. So lovely. Soft, fruity, dainty, delicate. Light honey, tangerine, that yeast is just unbelievable. Clean, fruity, lightly bitter and dry. Very refreshing stuff.

I've seen Jester King beers before but they have been sours and the like. Not my thing. I found this IPA of theirs a week ago at D&Q The Beer Station in Houston a week or so back. The stamp says pkgd 7/18/23 making this a really fresh beer. This will be my first JK tasting. I pulled down my ABGB snifter for this brew so I lift the tab on the pint can and pour. The body is a hazy gold-yellow with a substantial amount of wholly white foam. I smell tropical, citrus and a promise of hops. The taste is interesting. Grapefruit, tangerines, varnish, certainly some grain, a hint of pineapple, malt and a decent hoppy bitterness for a NE style IPA. Good in the style.

Can from the brewery. Thanks Chris! Pours a glowing, hazy straw gold with a full finger of white foam that lingers. Fresh squeezed tangerine and lime with pith and mineral aromas. Light and more tangerine pith and zest with lime zest as it warms. Some mineral and light apricot notes as it warms. Crisp carbonation but still soft on the palate. Lowish perceived bitterness on the finish with lingering dried tangerine.
