Jet brown with a light brown head. Chocolate and cocoa with some rye. Dark chocolate and light bitterness. Decent.

Aroma is soft chocolatey grains. Has a nice black body with just a hint of head. Flavour is okay soft barley with no complexity. Mouthfeel is a little weak, could be fuller. It's not bad but needs more to be exciting.

Draught at the brewery
The color is dark, almost black. The aroma reveals some dark roasted malt and some coffee. Smooth and overly carbonated mouthfeel, some wet cardboard. Some sour milk in the final, dry and weak.
Ok Porter, but it feels like something is not right.

Dark brown, thin head. The aroma is mainly chocolatey, with a little toastiness in there as well. On the palate, it’s more classic porter, low roast, and lots of toffee, molasses sort of dark sugar notes. Slight tartness, but the right kind if you’re doing a 19th century sort of thing, and it comes with a pleasing raisin/fruitcake accent. I can imagine some chewiness from rye, but that’s probably as much the power of suggestion as anything else. This is my kind of porter.
