Bouteille 500ml.

Originally rated December 2005. Bought at Metro on St-Jean in Quebec City, September 2005. First of two brews tested tonight, brewed by Multi-Brasseurs Inc. Both wheat beers (bière blanche de blé - written on label). Pours a cloudy pale beige-white with a good white head. Now, maybe this one is outdated... because the first sign are the bad nose. You can only smell the wheat aromas, hiding under a bad stench of rotten wine. Kind of like a bottle of red, half-dranked and sitting for over a month. Ok, maybe not as bad, but the mouth is even worst. A mix of coconut and notes of pineapples, all with a medium waxy mouthfeel. Very weird, and thanks Multi-Brasseur for trying. Hope the other is good at least.

I love these guys, you can tell right away from their labels that they’re extremely local, which means they’re either awesome or they suck and are just ducking the government by brewing some moonshine and selling it from the back of their pickup on the highway when the cops aren’t out there with their speed cameras. Pours with a soft gold body and a small little head on top. Aroma of cranberry muffins and caramel, quite sweet for a wheat beer. Flavour is malt and cherries, quite refreshing in fact, but the palate is quite weak. Sadly, in spite of my expectations, this one’s about average.

White beer with a nice banana and vanilla aroma. Nice wheat beer with touches of vanilla in finish. Good quaffable beer for the summer.
