Bottle from local Aldi. There’s a distinct aroma of marmalade here, along with some hops. Pours a bright copper with a small off-white head. In ther mouth, there is a tangy, fruity orange hoppy bitterness, though not massively so. Underneath that is a base of sweet malts and caramel, with hints of raisins too. Bitterness lasts in the finish. Not at all bad for 99p !

500ml bottle. Amber, clear, small off-white head, reasonable retention. Aroma of raisins, caramel malts and that's it; nice if a bit simple. Taste is raisins, caramel, nuts and a rising sweetness which then combines with a moderate and dry bitterness in the finish while carrying through an element of that raisin note; nice but the flavour is a little watered down. Body is also a little thin for a malt led beer. Not a great example of the style but decent for a cheap beer.

500ml bottle from Aldi. Poured a crystal clear copper colour with a very short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a malty, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Under medium bodied with flat carbonation. Not the worst supermarket beer i've tasted but a long way from the best. A little light and the lack of carbonation was a surprise. Can't see me buying this again.

500ml bottle: BB 31st May 2021. Left by a guest and drank at home on 16th Jul 2020, after an afternoon of cheap wine drinking. I needed something to clear my palate. Not too sure this was the correct beer to choose, but it didn't harm me. As the name suggests, this is amber in colour; it's head was an off-white affair that hung around for a while. Malty front to the nose and taste, fairly sweet; yet with a decent hop bitterness also. Cheapo beer and it shows as you get into it.

[50cl bottle from Aldi, Bracknell.] An amber pour with a thin white head, and lasting carbonation; malty aroma; thin with a malty caramel taste; and a slight earthy bitterness to finish. Unexciting.
