0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeer-Shop.com', best before December 2020. Almost clear, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, some raisins and not much else. Gently sweet, very malty, slightly bitter, moderately fruity and a little resiny taste of loads caramel, raisins, cherry jam, some rye and a touch of pine, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly resiny and a little boozy finish. Full body, smooth, creamy and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting beer, quite heavy but not really an IPA, rather an Imperial American Red Ale, Arrogant Bastard comes to my mind. Quite tasty, haven't had much like that from a German brewery.
