Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a near clear dark brown with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet dark grains, toffee and honey with w bit of barrel coming through. Flavor has sweet dark grains and honey with growing barrel and toffee supporting.

Tap at DU. Big bourbon, black barleywine aroma, rustic. Pretty cool beer, I really like how the barleywine still stands out and it's not obnoxiously strong or sugared out. Old school NW sensibilities. Good.

On tap at FiftyFifty, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out gentle bourbon, alcoholic spirit notes, and some oxidation. Flavour is moderately sweet, with bourbon, light roast, earthiness and a general muddled character. Not so convinced by this blend—seems rather rough and muddled. It's alright.

I tend to like these types of blends, specifically thinking of Alesmith's Philosophy and Velocity - East Coast. Very nice. Now BART with a mix of Imperial Stout and Barleywine. I am on board with it so far. This pint can came to me from a Total Wine in Houston, cooled off tonight for a sampling. The label shows a born-on date of 11/18/20 and an abv of 10%. Using my ABGB glass, I tilt the can for a pour. A rich mahogany brown in appearance with a slender head of taupe foam that promptly recedes to a ring around the glass. The scent is dark fruit, chocolate and black licorice. Innocent enough but then the taste. Folks, this is good, best brew I have had in some time. I determine dark chocolate, dark plums, malt, toffee, strawberries, toasted bread and pecans. A unique offering, wish I had bought more than one.

Can 473ml vintage 2019 @ home
Pours very dark brown almost black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruits, coffee, oak, vanilla and hint of alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted, chocolate, dried fruity, vanilla, coffee and oak finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

2020 Can, 10%. Deep dark brown color. Caramel, raisin and vanilla in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty caramelly flavor. Roastbitter, bourbon, vanilla. Honey and coffee.

16 ounce can - pours a dark ruby brown - the barleywine is much more forward than the Stout, which I appreciate - nose and flavor of treacle, vanilla, oak - the Stout adds some layers of chocolate and cherry - well-masked alcohol, but perhaps missing some of the depth and body one might want in something so strong.

16 oz can purchased as a single at the Whole Foods by the galleria in Houston, Texas. Canned on 3 26 19. The pour is opaque black with a 1/2 fizzy tan head. The aroma is molasses, soy, roast malt, pine and warming alcohol. The taste is the big malt roast and molasses of the nose with a nice blast of fresh oak woodiness in the back. Bit of warming alcohol as the beer warms. The palate is medium to heavier bodied with natural carbonation and the molasses booze and oak in the finish. Hadn't had a proper Big Boozy beer in awhile, this hit the spot.

Can. Dark brown pour. Aroma of molasses, licorice, oak, coffee, malt and dates. Taste has molasses, caramel, chocolate, red fruit, coffee, dates, bourbon booze, vanilla, honey and malt. Nice tasty boozy strong ale. Edit half hour later, the beer's description is correct, after a while more flavors comes loose and it gets more complexity. Bonus points.
