A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops that give characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit on the palate are balanced by malt and a bitter base. Dry hoppy finish with soft fruit flavors. A nationally respected ale, winner of numerous awards, JHB is a blond baby packed with flavour & perfect for those long sessions as well as a quick pint at lunchtime.

Cask-conditioned at the Lower Red Lion, St Albans. Golden with a slight white head. Aroma citrus and grassy hops, with some malty sweetness. Flavour began with some summer fruits, before some big, citrus hopping and a long, dry finish. A very drinkable session bitter.

(Cask at White Horse, Parsonโs Green, London, 26 April 2008) Golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with citrus (mainly lemon) and grassy hops. Fruity taste with notes of lemon and grassy hops in a very aromatic, hoppy finish. Slightly soapy, with some sweetness. Not very complex, but light and very hoppy.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Straw with a creamy head;citrus aroma, with a hint of lime; strong citrus flavour balanced by sweeter fruits, I got apricot, and malt; long bitter finish. Rather one-dimensional, but a very pleasant ale.
