Nice ornate stone bottle from Kris Wines, Holloway. Pours black with a light tan head. Aromas of licorice, coffee, chocolate, raisin and smoked wood. Flavours of chocolate malt, lots of coffee and licorice. Warm alcohol feel. Smoky sweet malt mouthfeel. Long finish. Tasty stuff.

Raisins, bagel raisin, dough, Porter notes, drunk way too easy.

20kg ceramic effect, swing top bottle, from B&M, courtesy of Totnes. Clear, deep ruby red. Thick, bubbly, lasting, beige head. Aroma is quite savoury. Soy sauce. Light liquorice. Burnt meat. Taste, after all that, is fruity dry. Some vinous sweetness. Decently full bodied, though it’s way too fizzy. Finishes fruity bitter, with a woody dry close. Just going to get a bicep pump curling the bottle, now...
