Bottle shared at The Kernel during Tommy’s birthday bottle share. Big thanks to the birthday boy himself for this treat! Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. The aroma holds cocoa, coffee, moderate roast, light burnt rubber. Medium sweet flavour with ample scorched earth, light ash, rubber, charred wood, cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation Moderate sweet on the finish with some burnt caramel, chocolate and earthy bitterness. Quite tasty, drinks rather well. Could do with a bit more depth and intensity of flavour, though. Overall, solid.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Huge thanks to the brewer for this gratis pour after the beer was officially ’off’. Opaque black - brown beer, thin pale tan head. Palate is semi dry with good very fine carbonation. Rich dark malts but no roasty bitterness. Mild dark chocolate. Pinch of spice. Bubblegum esters. Light dry finish. Satisfyingly malty and rich without and dry bitterness to annoy.
