Chestnuts. Roasted chestnuts. Blackcurrants. Camp fire. Woody. Doesn't give me wood though but one for the Camra guys.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 20/1/2015. Copper coloured, with a slight, off-white head. Berry fruits, a touch of toasted malts, leafy hops and a decent, bitter finish. Good.

On cask at the Cask and Barrel. Appearance - close to opaque black but not quite. Some lovely cherry coloured chinks around the glass. Lovely fawn head. Looks great Nose - chocolate and caramel. Taste - honey and/or caramel with a slight biscuits backdrop. A liquorice note brings on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry malty finish. Overall - good beer. It grows too.

Cask@Ice Wharf, Camden, London. Deep amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is floral, wooden and mildly toffeeish. Flavour is fruity, wooden, a bit nutty with some berries and mild herbal notes. Quite bitter and dry finish.

Good head as well as being crisp with a smooth texture, however weak bodied and bland.

Cask at the Tilly Shilling (JDW), Farnborough. Amber with a loose cream head; light fruity aroma; tangy with slightly sour apple and pear flavours; and a crisp, drp, cidery, finish. Not at all bad.

Cask at Square Peg, Birmingham, defined as Brown Ale
Beautiful dark mahogany color with small but persistent creamy head. Light caramel aroma. Quite good caramel and chocolate flavor, with just a bit more roasted malts in the final.
Pleasant.

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, 26-07-10 Pours reddy amber with off-white creamy head. This is a fairly standard bitter, served a touch warm, its safe on the maltiness and bitterness front, some caramel shows, its fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
