Velo (that’s French for bicycle – but you knew that!) is a 4.2% ABV ‘free wheeling’ fresh pale ale brewed with cascade hops and an ever so subtle hint of orange and coriander. Developed at our very own microbrewery before being promoted to our main plant due to unprecedented demand, Velo will ride on the back of Le Grand Party on 5th July – the biggest party our home in Masham has ever seen!

# 3183; 9/2022. Orange, candy, spicy aroma. Cloudy amber body, white head. Malty, orange, zesty, sweet. Too sweet golden ale. 0,5 l, bottle, supermarket, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).

From cask at Railway Tavern, Richmond, with Terje and Jon Einar 14.05.22. Translucent pale golden. Aroma and taste of citrus, pale fruits, pale malt and biscuits.

clear golden to orange colour, moderate sized dense ecru-ish head; aroma of fruity, floral, slight earthy and bread crusty notes; taste has the same notes with slight bitter orange and herbal hoppy notes; correct one

500ml bottle bought at Gulating Ølutsalg in Tromsdalen. Steady, frothy off-white head to a clear amber body. Rings of lace down the glass. Moderate aromas of mid-sweet malts and herbal hops. Developing taste character of grain, leafy hops, and mild hints of spices. A note of citrus peels to a dry, malt-fruity end. Easy to drink. Fair enough. (Rating no. 20500) (Tromsø 25.08.2021).

(Cask at The Flying Horse, 20191015) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had fruitiness and toffee. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, biscuits, toffee, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. A nice hoppy brew with sweet notes.

Bottle from a Co-op in York. Golden with a thin, white, head. Tangerine and peach fruits, a touch of floral hops, sweet digestive malts and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

'Bottle. Gold with a white head. Aroma of oranges and boiled lemons, light biscuit, some cleaning product. Quite sweet and doesn''t really finish with either bitterness or a lean towards dry. Citrus and soap. Not the best of the recent Aldi bunch.'

500ml bottle into pint glass. From Aldi, Riverwood. Golden amber beer with large foamy white head. A few bubbles make an appearance. Nose is a little lemon, a little malt, a little skunky. Slightly prickly mouthfeel, smooth texture. Finish is lightly bitter with a touch of lemon and a hint of earthy hops. Easy-drinking slammer.

50cl bottle from Aldi, Bracknell. A pale amber pour with a loose white head; grainy aroma with a touch of citrus; sour grainy taste with a sharp grassy bitterness; and a lingering dry bitter finish with some coriander and a hint of orange zest. Good stuff.
