Fra cask på Penderels Oak, London 31 Mar 17. Svart. Skum langs glasset. Lett sjokoladearoma. Smaken lettrøkt bacon. Blir litt tørr etter hvert.

Cask at Weatherspoons, Eastbourne. A bit of a mess, synthetic berry taste within a porter. At times drinkable, otherwise, naaaaaat.

Cask at Tilly Shilling, Farnborough. Scent of Ribena. A dark reddish brown. Initial frothy beige head soon dissipates. Light bitter with an odd tang. Blackberries are there but... Light bodied. Light bodied. Slick. Drinkable but insubstantial. Weak porter with added Ribena... possibly Light.

Cask at the Booking Office. Pours clear dark red-brown with no head. Strong blackberry aromas, faint chocolate. Taste doesn’t really live up to the promise of the nose. Bit thin, light roast and fruit.

Black colored, small dark tan frothy head, not too lasting. Aroma is of roasted malt and dark chocolate, blackberry dark fruitiness. Taste is medium sweet malt, dark chocolate and roasted malt, bit burnt notes, medium+ roasty bitterness, blackberries, bit earthy, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy. (cask, Maypole, Cambridge)

Cask at The Stockbridge Tap. Black body with a tight beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and raspberry syrup. Flavour of Ribena, cocoa powder and rich chocolate cake. It lacks subtlety but I enjoyed it. This reminded me of a lighter version of Fallen’s Big Raspberry Dog Chew.

Gravity cask at the Liberty Belle, Ely. Dark purplish black with a medium tan head. Vinous smell with berries and a whiff of smoke. Bittersweet, berry-laden and full taste. Long bitter finish. Nicely put together.
