Keg at the brewery. Near black, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, honey, nuts, coffee, pine. Taste is dark roast, coffee, oats, bitter hops. Medium bodied, creamy, mild lingering bitterness.

On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a dark hazy brown color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated immediately. Minimal lacing sticks and then slides into the beer.
The smell had some light sweet and roasty smooth coffee beans, light cocoa beans, light amount of ash, and a light sweet wheat.
The taste had a sweet wheaty to ashy cocoa bean. Light coffee slides in underneath for the balance. Ashy/smoky and roasty aftertaste leads into a sweet dry wheaty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly smooth and light.
Overall, wheat based Imperial porter, yup works for me. I’d have again. Good stuff.

Growler at Leighton’s pre-wedding shindig. It pours dark brown with decent dark beige head. The nose is fresh, rich coffee beans, earth, mild acidity, cacao nibs and coffee cake. The taste is bitter, earthy, big coffee vibe, mild smoke, coffee cake, wood with a dry, rich roast finish. Medium + body and moderate carbonation. Very tasty.

750 ml growler thanks going to Willrunforbeer on this. Very deep brown/ black color, thin lasting head. Aroma is rye grain, deep roast and notes of ash.

The flavor displays the nice roasted character with the rye and deep roasted wheat base. I like the rye spicy hints that plays well with chocolate and roast. Some light coffee bean bitterness. Nice showing and a very nicely crafted Porter.

Poured from growler thanks Willrunforbeer. Pours brown cola almost black with a tan head. Aromas of dark malt chocolate coffee and roast. Taste is coffee and chocolate with notes of roasted malt. There is a slight lingering bitterness from perhaps over roasted coffee. A nice porter.

Growler from the Brewery. solid black color with a smallish tan head that shows moderate retention. Big roast and milk chocolate on the nose with hints of earthy hops and a very light smoke to counter. The chocolate dominates the flavor with hints of sweet creamed coffee and a light earthy ashy smokey flavor especially in the finish. Medium body with a light to moderate carbonation. That is pretty damn tasty!
