Cerveza Negra has roasted malty notes which extends to its taste. It is full-flavored and full bodied. Bitterness is moderate but still smooth.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a very slight caramel malt. Flavor is about the same very slight malts with an overall watery feel. Nothing really great but i do find it drinkable on this warm evening.

Bottle labeled as Cerveza Negra. The best SM product out there. Malty, sweet aroma with the faintest of toasty notes, as well. Medium body. Flavor needs to be stronger, but it’s not bad. Light toasted notes, malts, light caramel. Finishes malty. Unfortunately it was pretty hard to find in the Philippines, which made no sense to me as I would drink this over the rest of their lineup any day.

Slight roasty aroma. Dark, looks and smells somewhat like root beer. Many american dark lagers look like this. Taste is well behaved. Very little detectable bitterness. Comes across like a mild enjoyable porter. An easy to drink dark beer. Finish is non assuming burned wood and is just the right amount of personality to let you know its beer. Not bad.

Strong aroma of figs. Dark brown pour, lots of carbonation, and a thick tan head, some lacing. Tastes of chocolate, figs, and hops, great balance. A little tinny and yeasty at times. Wonderful hop finish. Everytime I was going to set it down I found myself taking another sip.

bottle - Pours very dark brown with a fast fading, one finger head. The aroma is a pretty good roast malt with a matching roast malt flavor that has a touch of dark fruit notes. It’s a little thin, but not bad really. There’s some light hops in the finish. Given how bad the regular San Miguels I drank in Spain was, I had very low expectations for this one.

A lot like the regular San Miguel, dark color, with small tanish head. Slight fruit, with caramel tones.

I did not have overly high expectations for this one. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with reddish highlights and a large tan head. The aroma is roasty malts and molasses. The flavor is roasty with sweet molasses and brown sugar. A bit thin and watery on the mouthfeel. Not terrible.

Bottle. Strong molasses malt aroma. Dark brown color with tiny head. Slightly sweet molasses/raisin malt flavor. Moderate acidity and carbonation. Dramatically better than the pale lager.

An unclear brown beer with a disappearing light brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel and so is the flavor, but the body is thin.
