This mighty collaboration came about through a mutual admiration and shared ethos; consistently brewing with conviction and innovation. "Sine metu", or "without fear", reads the motto on every Jameson bottle, a creed that resonates with Beavertown’s own ideology, and one that definitely comes into play in the creation of this bold, ballsy, limited edition imperial stout, aged in Jameson whiskey barrels.

The name was inspired by "Ger", the fifth generation master Cooper at the Jameson distillery, a perfect example of passion and pride. ’Ger’onimo!’ is also the unofficial cry of paratroopers, used to express fearlessness or bravery as they leap, as one, to their designated destination. The similar practices of Jameson and Beavertown make for an ideal collaboration; a marriage of craft and flavours.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Opaque dark brown beer, bubbly tan head. Palate is smooth with very light carbonation. Smooth dark malts with a touch of dark malt cream. Tiny bit of roast malt bitterness. Light fruity whisky before a smooth finish. Quite a mellow impy and a good beer but.I was expecting something better.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenny. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose has plenty of moist, burnt wood, a bit of iodine and cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with charred wood, scorched earth, drying barrel. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and oily texture. Lightly warming to finish with more burnt wood, burnt marshmallows, milk chocolate, earthy bitterness. Nice one. Good and drinkable for the strength.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours near black with a tiny bubbly tan head. The nose is earthy, toast, light smoke, smoked meat, frazzles, wood and cheap whiskey. The taste is earthy, smokey, oily, dirt, charred wood, mild acidity, cocoa, medicinal notes, coffee, burnt, rich roast and toast with an earthy finish. Medium body, low carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. A bit flat if truth be told. Not bad, but not being a Jameson fan doesn’t help me out here.
